Does the iPhone 17 have eSIM? What Apple lists

Apple lists the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17e with eSIM. The source was read on September 30, 2026. The table marks eSIM as region-limited because the SIM setup depends on where the phone was bought.
Apple lists models bought in the United States, United States Virgin Islands, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Guam, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman as eSIM only, so those phones have no physical SIM. Models bought anywhere else have an eSIM and a nano-SIM. Apple also says that in China mainland only the iPhone 17e, among these four, supports eSIM, so the iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are not listed for eSIM there.
Dual SIM and physical SIM
The table records Dual eSIM as yes. Its “Physical SIM also: yes” applies only to models bought outside the eSIM-only countries above. A phone bought in one of those countries has no nano-SIM tray.
